Body: solid linden wood. Details and accessories: solid ash wood. Finish: olive oil. Painted details: water-based, non-toxic paint applied in multiple layers. No plastic components. Small variations in colour and grain are a natural characteristic of handmade production — not defects.

Farm play is some of the oldest play there is. Children have always known that animals need tending.

A farm gives animal play a structure and a purpose — animals arrive, settle into their stalls, are fed, and leave again in the morning. This cycle of care and routine is deeply satisfying to children, and it maps naturally onto the Waldorf understanding of rhythm as a foundation of healthy childhood. The Godolphin Farm makes that rhythm physical: there are stalls to fill, doors to open and close, mangers to load and buckets to carry.

Aligned with Montessori and Waldorf principles, this set supports open-ended imaginative play, early understanding of animal care, and the kind of purposeful, detailed play that develops concentration and fine motor skills. The accessible hayloft adds a second level of spatial complexity — a place to store, to hide, to climb toward.

Built from solid linden and ash wood, finished with olive oil and painted with water-based non-toxic colours, every piece is safe, durable and designed to be passed down. The kind of farm that outlasts childhood and becomes a family object.

The best farm toys don't teach children about animals. They let children take care of them.
