Large Birds Wooden Toy Set of Seven – Montessori & Waldorf

Each bird is handcrafted from sustainably sourced wood and painted by hand using non-toxic, water-based paints, ensuring both safety and environmental responsibility. The set includes a variety of species, ostrich , flamingo , emu , cassowary , shoebill , stork and pelican , each with distinct shapes, colors, and personalities. Hand-painted details make every figure one-of-a-kind, with natural variations that highlight the artistry of the maker. Chil

Each piece is carved from a single block of solid ash wood, hand-sanded and painted in layers. The finish is olive oil: natural, protective and gentle on the wood grain. No plastic components. Small variations in colour and grain are a natural characteristic of handmade production — not defects.

Open-ended wooden figurines work best when children are given time, space and freedom to direct their own play. There is no right way to use them — they become whatever the child needs them to be.

Open-ended wooden figurines are among the most developmentally rich toys a child can own. Without fixed rules or a prescribed story, they invite children to invent, narrate and explore — building narrative thinking, emotional intelligence and creative confidence. These pieces are handmade, beautiful and built to last — teaching children, by example, that the things around us deserve to be treated with care.
