Wooden Shepherd and Flock – Handcrafted Waldorf Farm Animals

The original design is inspired by real animals and is carefully crafted to develop children's creativity while providing hours of imaginative play. This detailed wooden toy figurine set includes 11 wooden figurines: two sheep, two rams, four lambs, a dog, a donkey, and a shepherd. Each piece is beautifully painted with non-toxic colors and is finished with olive oil, making it eco-friendly and safe for your child. Not only can this set be used as a toy for imaginative play, but it can als

Each piece is carved from a single block of solid ash wood, hand-sanded and painted in layers. The finish is olive oil: natural, protective and gentle on the wood grain. No plastic components. Small variations in colour and grain are a natural characteristic of handmade production — not defects.

Open-ended wooden figurines work best when children are given time, space and freedom to direct their own play. There is no right way to use them — they become whatever the child needs them to be.

Shepherd and sheep sets are a classic of Waldorf toy tradition — connecting children to the pastoral world, to care and tending, to the rhythms of farm life. Playing with a shepherd and his flock builds narrative thinking, an understanding of responsibility and a quiet appreciation for the beauty of the working world.
