Realistic Woodland Animals – Collectible Set – Montessori

The Woodland Animals Realistic Collectible Set brings together seven European forest species in precise, hand-painted wooden figurines. Each animal is carved to accurate proportions and painted with the colours and markings of the real species — a wolf's grey coat, a deer's spotted flank, the bison's dark bulk.

Carved from solid ash wood. Finished with olive oil. Water-based, non-toxic paint. No plastic components. EN71 certified. Each piece is unique — small variations in colour and grain are a natural characteristic of handmade production.

Realistic collectible figurines invite a different kind of engagement than cartoon animals — children study them, compare them with field guides, arrange them by habitat and diet. This is the beginning of scientific classification, sparked by beautiful objects.

Realistic animal figurines are among the most enduring toys in childhood — they connect children to the living world, spark genuine curiosity about different species and support the kind of quiet, focused play that builds observation and attention. Children who play with realistic wooden animals ask better questions about the natural world: what does this animal eat, where does it sleep, why does it have those markings? These are the first questions of a naturalist.
